dc.description.abstractThis chapter focuses on one year in Finnish audiovisual advertising, analysing the use of music in films and TV spots broadcast during 1968. The main research question concerns the motives, conventions and circumstances behind library music use in Finnish advertising films. The local audiovisual and music cultures form the context for the analysis and are themselves explained partly via the economic, societal and political circumstances of the time.
