Kuvan Kevät 2026

Abstract

Tämä näyttelyjulkaisu esittelee Taideyliopiston Kuvataideakatemian Kuvan Kevät 2026 -maisterinäyttelyyn (15.5.–14.6.2026) osallistuvia taiteilijoita. Tekstit ovat syntyneet talven aikana käydyistä keskusteluista Kuvan Kevään taiteilijoiden ja Nykytaiteen historian ja teorian kandidaatin sekä Praxis – kuratoinnin ja taiteesta kirjoittamisen maisteriohjelman opiskelijoiden välillä. Tekstit johdattelevat valmista teosta edeltäviin materiaaleihin, ideoihin, ympäröivään elämään ja maailmaan. Näin ollen katalogi sijoittuu väliin: hetkeen, jossa teos siirtyy yksityisestä julkiseksi, esille näyttelytilaan katsojien kohdattavaksi.

This exhibition catalogue introduces artists participating in the Kuvan Kevät 2026 Master’s Degree Show of the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Helsinki (May 15– June 16, 2026). The texts have emerged from conversations held over the winter between the artists of Kuvan Kevät and students from the Bachelor’s Programme in Contemporary art theory and history, as well as the Praxis Master’s Programme in Curating and writing in contemporary art. The texts lead toward the materials, ideas, surrounding life and environments that precede the finished work. In this sense, the catalogue occupies an in-between space: the moment when an artwork transitions from the private to the public, entering the exhibition space to be encountered by viewers.
